For the past month we have been researching, photographing, and filming the Gloria Dei Lutheran Parish in Providence, Rhode Island. Through this site we hope to inform you about the history and convey the importance of this work of Art Deco Architecture. We have gotten the chance to explore all aspects of the Church from its start as a Scandinavian congregation, to the current diverse community, and the multitude of uses of the establishment. Although it is tucked back between buildings and across the street from the mall's garage, the Church is a representation of historical American architecture which serves as a vital asset to the Providence community. We hope you enjoy the presentation of this building through this site and the different means of documentation for your enjoyment. Please explore through the sections at the top of the page to see the culmination of our work.
